Scattering Amplitudes

High-energy particle collisions are the most efficient tool for accessing new information on matter constituents and forces of Nature. The higher the energy of the colliding particles, the richer the landscape of the produced ones. The discovery of new Physics interactions is definitely associated to the discovery of new particles emerging from collisions of ever increasing energy. Therefore, advances in High Energy Particle Physics necessarily depend on our ability to describe the scattering processes at very high accuracy.

Intersection Theory

Twisted (co)homology and intersection theory provide a geometric framework for Feynman integrals and string amplitudes: integrals become pairings between cycles and cocycles, master integrals become a basis of a vector space, and intersection numbers act as scalar products, allowing for direct projections onto a basis and the derivation of differential equations and quadratic relations.

String Theory

One of the central challenges of modern physics is reconciling General Relativity, which describes gravity and the large-scale structure of spacetime, with Quantum Mechanics, governing microscopic phenomena. Achieving this goal requires a consistent quantum theory of gravity, capable of unifying gravity with the other fundamental interactions. String Theory represents one of the most prominent attempts in this direction, proposing that elementary particles are not pointlike, but arise as different vibrational states of one-dimensional objects called strings.
